We are Fortunate
We in the United States of America are very fortunate. We have air-condtioned schools, with libraries full of books. Computers, cell phones, ipad this and ipod that. Anything and EVERYTHING at the tips of our fingertips to acquire and process knowledge. Our churches as well are ladened with a wealth of knowledge and resources. We are very fortunate, but it is not like that everywhere.....
Matthew 5:6...
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
That is why we have The Matthew 5:6 Project
The Matthew 5:6 Project's goal is to meet the teaching needs of
churches in poverty-stricken countries world-wide. These church
leaders can not obtain the materials needed to witness with and to teach
their new converts. In order to help them, we collect old, outdated, but
usable, Sunday School literature and other inspirational literature and
send it free of charge to them. This project has been in operation since
June 2008 and so far we assist several churches in three countries with
teaching materials.
Emails come pouring in weekly of new churches and people in need of
teaching materials. We in the United States are fortunate and blessed to
be able to worship freely and to acquire easily whatever teaching
materials we need. Sometimes though, we tend to forget how things
could be and take things for granted. Take time to just pause and think,
how it would be if your church had nothing to teach you or your children
about Christ with. No Sunday School class, training hour or a VBS. How
would you feel? What if the only teaching you did receive was by word
of mouth... nothing to take home and study... nothing to use for a
reference? Wouldn't it be odd? It's nothing like we're used to. In some
countries, basic knowledge of Christ is all they have. No in-depth study
for Christian Workers and Church Leaders to enrich their congregations
with. And you know it's important ... that is why we have Sunday School,
VBS, Training Union Hour and seminaries....so our people can be
empowered with knowledge when going out to face the real world. And,
the need is the same with them.
What can you do?
First of all, please pray for this Project to be a success. There are many
needs to be filled. Many hurting churches...many hurting people...all
desiring knowledge.
Next, look in your closets...do you have any old out-dated Sunday
School Books? Talk to your church, they may have bundles of old
Sunday School books or past VBS materials, just collecting dust. Do you
have a local Christian publishing company? If so, they may love to clear
out their inventory. Please donate them to this cause.
It is a win-win situation....Knowledge-IN, land-fill clutter-OUT!
And please, consider a monetary donation to defer shipping cost. The
average cost range for shipment of one flat rate priority box, which holds
25-40 Sunday School books, (depending on the size and shape), going
overseas, is $48.95-$58.95.
And always, your donation is tax deductible.

If your church wants to become more involved in Missions, then consider
sending materials direct to them. We can supply all the necessary
information you need to do so and we are positive that they would love
to have some new friends. Have your pastor contact us to set this up.
